Tour Plan

Arusha is the safari capital of the country and a bustling tourism-driven city. You will be met by your driver-guide in Arusha or at the airport and together, you will begin the transfer to Tarangire National Park to start your private safari game drive. The name of the park originates from the Tarangire River, which crosses the park and is the main source of freshwater for the wildlife. This quiet park is famous for its elephant migration, birdlife, and authentic safari atmosphere.

You will enjoy a packed lunch at midday and at the end of the afternoon’s game drive, you will make your way to Africa safari Rift Valley. On arrival, you will have time to refresh before finishing the day with dinner under the stars and a good night’s sleep in one of our comfy accommodations.

After a restful night's sleep, today is dedicated to the majestic lions, often dubbed the 'day of the lions.' Start with an early breakfast before checking out, then embark on a journey to the picturesque Lake Manyara National Park. This park spans approximately 330 square kilometers, with around 200 square kilometers covered by the lake during high water levels.

As you explore, you'll be greeted by the sight of a vast sea of pink flamingos stretching to the horizon and have the chance to observe bull elephants up close. Lake Manyara is renowned for its diverse range of herd animals and birdlife. One of the park's unique attractions is its famous tree-climbing lions, often spotted resting on the branches of acacia trees. After immersing yourself in the beauty of this park, including its lush groundwater forest, you'll continue your journey to your next lodge, where the day's adventures will continue to unfold.

Be sure to wake up early today, so there is no delay on your descent into the famous Ngorongoro Crater. As soon as you arrive in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will be amazed by the beauty around you.

Even more so when you arrive at the crater's edge and take in the amazing view over one of the Natural Wonders of the World. The crater of this inactive volcano is approximately 3 million years old, 20 sq km in size and the largest unbroken volcanic caldera in the world. Due to its natural borders, the wildlife in the crater is amazing.

The crater is home to the Big Five and offers a good chance to spot the rare black rhino. Throw hyenas, zebras, buffalos, and elephants into the mix, and you have the perfect canvas for a pretty awesome safari experience. At the end of the afternoon, you will go to the lodge, for a well-deserved night’s sleep.

Time to take it easy, African style! One of the favorite Swahili expressions is pole pole (slow) and that’s exactly how today will go! You may wish to sleep in or perhaps enjoy a second easy coffee while watching the animals graze near the restaurant. After breakfast, you will visit the traditional home of the Maasai, the Maasai Boma—which consists of a variety of small huts made of mud, sticks, and cow dung. The boma is surrounded by a circular “fence” of thorny bushes to protect the tribe and their cattle from predators.

During your visit, you can practice a traditional dance, engage in a conversation about daily life, traditions, and customs, and admire the beautiful beadworks of the Maasai women. In the mid-afternoon, you will commence the drive back to Arusha Airport, where it all started. Your heart and camera are full of memories from your African safari adventure.
